Ben Hogan will long be remembered. He not only developed one of golf's most repeating swings he demonstrated that it could be learned. Mr. Hogan built his golf swing. Certainly, he had enormous skills, beyond that of a normal human. Still, he showed that golf swings weren't a gift given at birth but rather something that could be crafted with dedication and hard work. He was the man that almost single handedly built an industry. Practice facilities and golf instruction owe him a debt which can never be repaided.

Mr. Hogan had more influence on the golf swing and instructional theory than any man in history. His contributions will inspire and encourage golfers, of all levels, to continue working to improve. His success serves to prove that it can be done. Hard work on proper fundamentals pays rewards.

A friend of mine had the opportunity to watch Mr. Hogan practice in the early 1970's. He said that he knew that he could not be as good as the legends had suggested. He said consider that Mr. Hogan was nearly 60 years old and his skills must have eroded at least to some degree. My friend said unfortunately the legends were not true. They did not do him justice they underrated his a precision. He was far better than you could imagine!

He will be missed but his influence will continue to live on as long as the game is played.

Thank you Mr. Hogan
